Why Most Shilajit on the Market Is Not What You Think


I’ve personally tested competitor products. I dissolved them in water and watched what happened. In some cases, nearly 50% of what settled at the bottom was soil, sand, and impurities — not Shilajit.
Many brands manufacture Shilajit by heating it and adding glucose, flour, and ghee to increase quantity. The result looks like Shilajit. It is not Shilajit.

My Background: Why I’m Different From Every Other Shilajit Seller


I’m Anwar Ul Haq, a Mining Engineer from Gilgit-Baltistan — the region directly beneath K2, the world’s second-highest mountain, and the source of the world’s finest Shilajit.
During my university studies, I began researching Shilajit in our mineral processing laboratory under the guidance of my mentor — a PhD graduate from the Colorado School of Mines, one of the world’s top mining and mineral science universities.
His training was rigorous. Every day: read 5 research articles on Shilajit, take notes, and discuss findings. Meanwhile, I was physically working with raw Shilajit rocks in the lab — crushing, filtering, testing, and analyzing samples using atomic absorption spectroscopy to identify mineral content and find the best methods to remove heavy metals.
I also studied traditional purification methods — using moringa seeds and triphala to chelate and remove heavy metals, methods used for centuries in Ayurvedic practice.
That foundation is what K2 Healing Shilajit is built on.

 

Our 10-Step Purification Process

Step 1: Sourcing Above 17,000 Feet

We collect raw Shilajit rocks directly from above 17,000 feet in the Himalayas of Gilgit-Baltistan. No third parties. No middlemen. Lower altitude Shilajit contains more contamination. Third-party involvement risks mixing and adulteration.

Step 2: Spring Water Cleaning

Raw rocks are cleaned with natural spring water on-site to remove surface debris before transport.

Step 3: Natural Sun Drying

After cleaning, rocks are left to dry naturally in the sun. No artificial heat. Heat destroys bioactive compounds.

Step 4: Breaking Into Small Pieces

Rocks are broken into small fragments to increase surface area for the extraction process.

Step 5: Mixer + RO Water Soak (24 Hours)

Fragments are placed in a mixer with purified RO (reverse osmosis) water and left to soak for 24 hours, allowing minerals and bioactive compounds to fully dissolve into solution.

Step 6: First Manual Filtration

The solution passes through manual filter bags (similar to muslin cloth). Heavier soil, dust, and lattice particles remain above. The Shilajit-water solution passes through into a sealed storage tank.

Step 7: 7-Stage Mechanical Filtration

The storage tank is connected to a 1.5kWh motor driving a 7-stage filtration unit combining:
Ultrafiltration membranes
UV light sterilization
The tank also has an outlet positioned 10 inches above the bottom, so heavy sediment settles and is never transferred forward.

Step 8: SS Tray Sun Drying

The filtered solution is spread onto stainless steel trays on stainless steel tables, covered with glass, and left to naturally evaporate and concentrate in sunlight. No artificial heat. Glass covers prevent contamination.

Step 9: Tray Filtration Every 3 Days

Every 3 days, the concentrated Shilajit is manually filtered again — tray to tray — to remove any remaining fine soil particles that settle during evaporation.

Step 10: Repeat Until Clean

We repeat the tray filtration process continuously until the trays confirm the product is 100% clean. There is no fixed number of times — the product tells us when it is ready.

How to Verify Pure Shilajit at Home

Here is a simple test you can do with any Shilajit product, including ours:
1. Take a small amount and dissolve it fully in warm water
2. Wait for the water to cool and settle
3. Observe the bottom of the glass
Pure Shilajit: Water is dark, clear, no sediment at the bottom.
Adulterated Shilajit: Visible soil, sand, or particles settle at the bottom.
